Approach to Education

Course Contents

The curriculum at Yoyogi International School integrates philosophies and goals from established education programs to prepare children for higher education across the globe:

  • The Learner Profile attributes of the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)
  • UK National Curriculum Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and the Early Year Foundation Stage
  • US Common Core State Standards
  • US State Guidelines (New York and Massachusetts Board of Education)
  • National Education Technology Standards from the International Society for Technology (IT Curriculum only)

Guided by the belief that students learn best when independent and engaged learning is encouraged, students learn by doing, exploring the limits of their curiosity, teaching each other, and having fun. The school educates the whole child and emphasizes the development of positive attitudes toward learning in small class sizes.
