There is a school trip to Hiroshima

Japanese classes followed by textbooks used in public Japanese schools are held four times a week from Year 2-7 (corresponds to 1st-6th grade in Japan). The classes move on at about the same pace as they would in public Japanese schools. Although more Japanese classes are provided when compared with other international schools, the number of classes is less than that of public Japanese schools, so it would be better if families could provide support at home

The primary and secondary divisions of MIST are registered at Cambridge Assessment International Education. Cambridge International helps teachers to improve classroom practice by identifying what currently works well and then building on these existing skills and traditions.

At MIST, there are key aspects of pedagogy. These include

• Object lead planning (matching MIST objectives with Cambridge International’s)
• Active learning
• Assessment for learning (verbal, written, and visual tests coupled with observations)
• Provision of high-quality feedback (essential item in helping students and teachers alike)
• Language use and quality learner talk (English is the medium of education and aspire for the highest levels of exposure)
• Digital technology. (interactive smart board software, use of Videos/Audio, and the assistance of computers to impart knowledge and help students present their work)

There are extra-curricular activities such as Computer Programming/ Graphics and Robotics.

Depending on the result of the entrance examination for MIST, it may be necessary for students to join the Intensive Growth Program (IGP), a program that is held after school 2-3 times a week.
