【Early Years (Ages 2.5-6)】
Multiple teachers promote student-led inquiry, fostering active engagement among children through observation, play, questioning, investigation, and drawing conclusions. The specialist classes are: Music, Japanese, PE, Visual Arts, and Library.

【Lower School (Grades 1-6)】
The curriculum aligns with the Common Core State, Next Generation, and AERO Standards, ensuring that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills

【Upper School (Grades 7-12)】
In Grades 7-10, the curriculum is built on the California State and Common Core Standards. Henceforth, students are offered the following pathways

Presentation Opportunities

For over 30 years, MBIS has hosted a Model United Nations (MUN) General Assembly, attended by delegates from international schools around Japan. For many students, it becomes a keystone program for both personal and academic growth. For some, it has been the first stepping stone toward a career in international relations

Career Education

Students in grades 9 & 10 have a regularly scheduled guidance period within their class schedule. During this period students explore careers, begin preparation for searching and applying to university, practice learning skills, and participate in lessons geared towards the development of social and emotional learning (SEL)
